Shanghai, More Architecture
The Bund again, this time from across the river in Pudong. 
It seems to me that modern buildings in Shanghai are designed without any preconceptions. 
It doesn't show in the picture, but all those uprights on the tower portion of the building are also pseudo-Greek columns 
... with a dome atop!
And this picture simply doesn't do justice to the scale of the highrise project in the far distance.

Not all the architecture was monumental; this area, in back of the hotel, was pleasant and at a livable scale.
