Lisbon: Mosteiro dos Jerónimos

Went to Lisbon to present a lecture; not much time for picture taking before the lecture was done. The one on the left is the interior of the Bank of Portugal, part of which was formerly a church and which is being refitted as a museum.  The picture on the right is the nearby city hall.

But after the lecture was over, I wandered around the neighborhood of Belem and took lots of pictures in the Jeronimos Monastery, built in the 1500’s and a masterpiece of the Portuguese late-Gothic style.
